Every year our neighborhood celebrates national fishing day by having a fishing festival at Sahuarita Lake. Lincoln had so much fun watching the girls fish. But of course, he couldn't stop there. He wanted to fish too!

Yeah! Savannh turned 6 on April 5th! No party this, just one with the family. Ever since Lincoln was born we decided we will go ahead and let the kids have a friend birthday party every other year. When you have 4 kids you start to realize you are ALWAYS planning and paying for birthday partys. And believe it or not, there not always for your own kids. How many parties do your kids get invited to each year?! And the girls don't understand why we only let them go to the ones where they are actually friends with the kids.
Savannah's big present this year was a 3/4 size guitar. She has been asking for one for years. She is our musical child and we decided she was old enough to take care of one this year. She was so excited! We are still working on the basics of holding down the strings, but she'll get it. Savannah has also spent some time on the piano. I started giving her home lessons on both instruments. She really loves it! I love to see the kids growing into their own. It's so fun!

In March we had Shirley's kids come and stay with us for Spring break. You should have seen the looks we go going around town with 9 kids! Shirley drove the kids down on Sunday afternoon. On Monday Kevin took off from work early and we took the kids to the Tucson Zoo. On Tuesday we spent the day the club. We went swimming, miniature golfing, played at the park, and just spent most of the day outdoors. On Wednesday we took everyone fishing at the lake. Most of the kids were able to catch something that eveing. I'm so glad the kids were able to come and stay with us. I'm especially glad we were able to give Shirley a break to get some things done.

Scott & Heather Chapple had baby #5 in February. Olivia Chapple was born at 2 weeks old she was diagnosed with RSV and spent the next 2 weeks in NICU fighting off the virus. After many prayers from all over was finally released from the hospital. Heather spent the whole 2 weeks with her. Marilyn came down from Snowflake to take care of their kids for them. We're so glad Olivia is better. Hopefully there are no long term effects from the RSV!

Eliza's 4th Birthday

Well, It's past time for me to update my blog! Let's start with January. Eliza turned 4 on the 23rd. She had a puppy party and invited several kids from playgroup, dance and the church.

Goin' back to TEXAS!

This photo is actually from last March. We're headed back to Austin this weekend to witness the baptism of Jackson Robert VanDerwerken! We are so excited to see our Olmo cousins again! We'll have to take another picture like this one an see how everyone has changed.

Christmas Chaos!
